CAS Thank You

Happy Friday!!

A friend of the family has asked me to make her several cards, and specifically some thank-you's.

This one was quick, easy and a ton of fun...I love this color-combo from this week's colorQ challenge to use Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, Real Red & Cool Caribbean (I substituted & used Bermuda Bay).

This was also a fun layout, which is from the CAS(E) this Sketch for this week.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a great weekend!  I know we will, as tomorrow is my baby-girl's 23rd birthday!

Celebrate Red, White & Blue

Happy Wednesday!

Even though Memorial Day has passed, it's never too late to celebrate our American Pride.

I am so grateful to those who lost their lives while at war or in service to protect our freedoms!

This was a totally quick & easy one.  The navy stars were stamped using a star from SU! that I cut out and popped up with foam-adhesives.  Then finished them off with the smaller white punched stars and a glitter pen around the edges.

God Bless the U.S.A.!

CAS Delight

TGIF!!

Everyone looking forward to this holiday weekend?
I know I am!!

As often as I can, I try to get into my scrap room and create a CAS
(clean and simple) card after my dear hubby has gone to bed.

The CAS cards are usually quick & easy, and I can get them done before I'm ready for bed too.

This is one that I cased from one I saw on Pinterest...

The dragonfly was inked up with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Crushed Curry Textured cardstock from SU!.  I cut it out and outlined it
with my Sakura Glitter pen.

And there ya go!  CAS, quick & easy!

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you have a fun, and safe Memorial Day weekend!

The stamps are by ODBD Loving Memories set, inked up, colored, blended and finished it off with that bow & button.

Thanks for stopping by today, I always enjoy your comments!

CAS Masculine Celebrate

Happy Wednesday!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge over at CAS(E) this sketch, and well....I didn't finish it in time :(

That's okay, it was fun!

The color combo is from the Color Challenge this week over at SCS with dessert being masculine.

The big star is from a scrap of SU! Chocolate Chip cardstock that had the star already punched out, and I cut around it and glued it down, adding that big button & twine to finish it off.

The little stars are from my Studio G punch.

It was quick & easy, and whew!, another masculine card done!

I hope you have a great day!

Fusion With Sympathy

Hey y'all!

The last couple weeks, I wasn't able to get my creation done in time to participate in the Fusion challenges, but this week I did.

Here's Fusion #7:

If you're not familiar with the Fusion challenges, you have 3 choices: create using the sketch, use the picture inspiration, or "fuse" them together.

Again, I chose to fuse them, and here's my take on it:

The sentiments are from my new set of stamps (I recently won a gift-certificate to Our Daily Bread Designs), and decided to use them today.  I stamped them directly onto my paper, as this week's challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is to "stamp on DP".

And this week's challenge over at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday is to use butterflies.

Sympathy cards are (emotionally) tough to make, yet important to have some on hand.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Follow Your Bliss

Hey there, I hope you had a great weekend!

Today's card is a creation that was CASEd from Julie over at the Flourishes blog.  They have challenged everyone to CASE one of her cards that were shared,  (It's their way of allowing everyone to get to know their Senior Design Team better), and I chose this one:

Aren't those butterflies gorgeous?!  I knew immediately when I saw this one, that I wanted to CASE it!

Here's a closer view of mine:

The images are from the Flourishes "Bees & Blooms" set.  The bees are inked up with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored in with CTMH markers, then I put Liquid Glass on the wings to make them shine.  The flowers were inked up with Colorbox Chalk in "Tangerine".

This was a ton of fun, and I'm looking forward to the new Designer Focus Challenge this Friday.

Have a great week!

The big, black bow & button were a last-minute addition, and might be a tad over-done, LOL.

Graduation

Hey there, thanks for stopping by today!

A friend of mine asked me to make her a couple cards for her daughter, and this one is for her H.S. Graduation next month.

Her daughter's colors are black, purple & gold.  I inked the image with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored in with my Sakura Glitter Pen, and popped it up for dimension.

To finish it off, I added the 3 pearls, and a folded scrap of black ribbon tucked into the side.

My friend loves it, and I hope her daughter does too!

Congratulations to the Grad!

Hey there!

With my nephew's H.S. Graduation quickly approaching, my Sis asked if I could create a card for him similar to one she found on Pinterest, and this is what I came up with.

The DP is "Graduation Caps" from Sandylion. I cut one of them out and popped it up for dimension.

The sentiment is from TPS, inked up with Memento Tuxedo Black onto SU! Whisper White Cardstock, and the black pearls from Want2Scrap.

Easy-peasy, clean & simple!

Hope you have a great Tuesday, thanks for stopping by!

Dusty Durango Birthday Flowers

Hey there...I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day weekend!

Today's creation is clean & simple and was a breeze to make.

I cased this one from Pinterest!

The flowers were made using my Spellbinders "Rose Creations" die set.  I chalked them up and secured them with that button and twine.

The small flower-punches were also chalked up and I added those tiny white pearls to finish them off.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great week!

Mother's Day Butterflies

Happy Friday!

I decided to squeeze in one more Mother's Day card and give it to my neighbor/friend who lost her son (my son's BFF) last year, as I know that it's days like this when she really misses him.  RIP Nicky!

The colors I used today are inspired by the colorQ Challenge this week.  Whenever I see a color-challenge, I try to make it a point and use cardstock mats in all the colors.  This time, I decided to instead use the colors for my embellies, like those butterflies.

The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart, and I used SU! So Saffron and Groovy Guava cardstock.  I chalked around the edges with my Dew Drop in Aloe Vera and secured them with the black pearls.

My center cutout is from the DCWV Preppy Princess Series.  I cut it out and inked up this sentiment from the Verve "Because of You" set.

Thank for stopping by today, I hope you have a great weekend
and a Happy Mother's Day!

You're Too Kind!

Hey there!

Since my card-stash has run low on thank-you's,
I decided to make one today.

Those pretty designer papers are from the Colorbok "Luxe" series.  The sentiment is from the SU! Whimsical Words set.

I punched it out with a circle punch, chalked around the edge with a Dew Drop, popped it up using a foam-adhesive and added the 3 black pearls.

The layout is this week's Mojo Monday Sketch + Contest, and am also playing along with Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge to add "black accents".

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day!

Dad...

Hey there!

I know it's early to be creating for Father's Day, but I saw this sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and thought it would be the perfect layout for this one.

Father's Day has always been 'hard' for me since my own father's passing in 1998....although it feels like yesterday.

However, I still celebrate with both my husband and my father-in-law and help make their day special.

This one turned out easy peasy to create!

Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy your Wednesday!

CAS Thinking Of You

Hey there...I hope you had a great weekend!

Am rallying myself once again to participate in CAS challenges (Clean & Simple).  As I've said before, it is not as "simple" as you might think.  Well, for me at least, as I always want to add more!

This CAS creation is inspired by this week's CAS(E) #26 over at Case this Sketch.  I love this layout and just had to play along.

The other challenge is for the #100 Challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays.  They are playing Tic Tac Toe over there, and you have your choice of combining 3 of their Top 10...I chose: Polka Dots, Kraft Paper, and Dies.

The dies I chose are these pretty flowers and leaves from Spellbinder's "Rose Creations" die set.  I chalked them up using my Gingerbread Dew Drop and added a big, fuzzy brad to anchor it.

That pretty polka-dot DP is from the Colorbok "Splendor" series.

If you love creating CAS, you'll love both of these challenges!

Thanks for popping in today!

Americana Birthday

Hi again!

A friend of the family's son (I call him my nephew) celebrates his birthday near the 4th of July, so I decided this year to create a card with an Americana feel.  I just adore anything Americana...and in fact, my entire house used to be decorated in this theme.

The sketch is from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge over at Karen Giron's blog "The Sweetest Thing"I always enjoy her sketches, and you could win a Guest Stamper spot too.

I recently bought some Kraft Cardstock, and really like how it goes with the red, white & blue.

The stars were cut out by hand (after making a template using a SU! star stamp), chalked around the edges, then popped up.

The red-scallop strip was created using a corner punch by removing the guard; you can easily punch each scallop, and viola!  It takes some time, but I really love how it looks.

Thanks for stopping by again today, I hope you have a great weekend!

~Cheryl

Card Recipe:
Cardstock:  SU! Whisper White, Real Red, Night of Navy and Kraft.
Stamp:  TPC
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Dew Drop in Gingerbread
Other:  Corner punch, button, twine & foam-adhesives.

Celebrate You!

Yah, it's Friday, thanks for stopping by today!

This image is from an older SU! set called Greetings Galore.  My sis gave this set to me recently (along with many other cool items) after she cleaned out her scrap & stamp supplies...Thanks Sis!

I inked it up in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored it in with my CTMH Markers, and cut it out using my Spellbinders Labels One Die.  Then, I re-stamped the image onto Pretty In Pink, cut out the cake and ran it thru my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots Folder and popped it up using foam-adhesives for added dimension & texture.

I finished it off with some black ribbon & pearls.

Enjoy your weekend!

Happy Thursday!

Today's card is inspired by sketch #16 over at Sketchy Friday

and Baja Breeze.

I used the Birthday Bella image from Stamping Bella, inked her up using Memento Tuxedo Black, colored her in with my Prisma Watercolor Pencils and blended.

I popped her up with foam-adhesives and finished her off with some 3-D paper flowers that I lightly chalked with my Dew Drop.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day!

Spring Blossoms Flourish

Hi everyone!

I must say, I am really enjoying my new stamps from Flourishes.  I have always preferred clear over wooden stamps, and Flourishes are awesome!  They stay put on the glass block, the ink goes on well, and the details are amazing!
You should play along with this week's challenge at Flourishes, it is according to your birth-month.  Mine is April...to use 2 patterned papers and a flower stamp.

For today's card, I used this image from their "Spring Blossom" set with a special someone in mind for her upcoming birthday.
I inked it up with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored it in with my CTMH Markers, Prisma Watercolor Pencils and blended.  I cut the image into a circle (yep, by hand...I don't own a circle-cutter), did some paper-piercing around the edges, outlined with a glitter-pen and popped it up using foam-adhesives.

Thanks for stopping by today!
