Butterfly Birthday Fusion

Hey there and Happy Tuesday!

Today's card is inspired by the Fusion #4 challenge:

I am really lovin' these new challenges where you have the choice of using the sketch, the color combo or fuse them both!

This week, I chose to fuse them together, and here's my take on it:

The bg is SU! Basic Black, and then I embossed some SU! Whisper White using the Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls folder.

I stamped the butterfly, cut it in half, then colored it in using my CTMH Markers, Prisma Watercolor Pencils and added some Icicle Stickles for bling.

Those little butterflies are from a small punch I recently bought from Studio G, and I added tiny black pearls to finish them off.

I really like how it turned out with clean lines and a pop of color.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Birthday Garden

Happy Monday y'all!

Am so excited to finally get my goodies from Flourishes after winning a random drawing a couple weeks ago from participating in their Summer Lovin' Challenge.  Don't you just love winning stuff?!

I've been commissioned by one of my sis-in-laws to create some cards for her, and this one will be for my Mom.  Mom loves this Garden Gate image, so I knew it would be perfect for her.

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored it in with my Prisma Watercolor Pencils and blended.  I chalked around the edges with a Dew Drop and matted it with SU! Rose Red and Certainly Celery.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great week!

Happy Anniversary Sis!

Hi there!

This creation is for my Sister's 23rd Anniversary today...

Happy Anniversary Sis!

I wanted to create something unique for her, and used some fabric-flowers, cut out the stems, used a punch for the leaves and twine to tie it together.

Aren't those fabric-buttons cute?!  I've been wanting to use them and thought this was the perfect time!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoy your Sunday!

She was so tired....awwwwwwww!

Am back from a much needed week-long vacation in Orlando,
and will be posting a new creation tomorrow.

Hope you've all had a great week!

Masculine Make A Wish

Woo-hoo, it's Friday!

Okay...I have to admit, I bought more paper again!

Oh yeah....these DP's are from the Colorbok "So Sweet" pack, and when I saw these specific papers, I immediately thought "masculine"!

This cake & candles image is from SU! Best of Birthdays set, and I inked it with Memento Tuxedo Black, die-cut it out using my Spellbinders "Labels One" die set, colored it in with Prisma Watercolor Pencils, blended, and popped it up using foam adhesives for a 3-D look.

Ta-da!  Another masculine card done!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Just For You

Happy Thursday...the weekend is almost here...yahhh!

The papers I chose for today's card is from the Cosmo Cricket "Early Birds" pack, and it is absolutely my fave!

The bg Chocolate cardstock and that ribbon/bow looks black, but I assure you, it is a dark-brown.  I played around with photo editing and it ended up too dark...oopsie!

My girlfriend let me browse her stamp collection
(oh yeah, she makes cards too!), and I saw this little darling flower from Stampin' Up! that I thought would go great with this layout.

I stamped it in SU! Old Olive (stem), and the petals in Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored it in with my Prisma Watercolor Pencils and then blended it all together.  I added foam-adhesives to pop it up, and that little black pearl to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Bee Day!

Hi everyone.  I'd like to start off today by sending my thoughts, prayers and condolences to all of those affected by the recent bombings.  God Bless them all, and may they heal quickly and be comforted.

~~~~~~~~~~
Isn't this image adorable?  It's the BEEday Huggabugg stamp set
I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored her in with my Prisma Watercolor Pencils, blending with the SU! Blending Pen.
Oh, and the bg paper!  I chose this blue-patterned paper because it sort of looks like a honeycomb!
Here's a closer look at her:
For her wings, I chose to use Liquid Glass instead of glitter, as I wanted them to look see-through like wings should.
Thanks for hanging out with me today!
Cheveron Birthday
 Hi again!
I had so much fun with the Fusion Challenge #1, that I decided to play along again this week.
I don't know about you, but I really love a sketch challenge with a color inspiration.  Sometimes I need that to get my creative-juices flowing.
Aren't those colors cool?
Even though the "chevron" style is really popular right now, the only thing I had was this chevron-green paper from DCWV.  I cut it out and matted it against the white.  For the gray circles, I just used 2 different sized circle-punches and glued those down.
Now that it's finished, I think it'll be a perfect masculine card.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Get Well
Happy Tuesday!
Another clean and simple creation...and instead of (another) Mother's Day card, I went with "Get Well".
Again, I so wanted to incorporate more patterned papers, more bling and ribbons, but had to hold myself back LOL!  This one really isn't "my style", but sometimes we need to step-out-of-the-box, don't we?
The paper-strip I used is from the DCWV "Preppy Princess" Stack.  The tea-set cutout is also from that pack of papers,
(which I thought went perfectly for a get-well card).
I chose these papers because they have glitter on them, and the challenge this week over at CAS-ual Friday is to use glitter/sparkles.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Bermuda Bay Birthday
Hey y'all!  I hope you had a great weekend!
I absolutely love this color combo (blue with brown and cream), and thought it coordinated well with this pretty paper from the Colorbok "Splendor" set.
This one was a quick and easy one to make, not much going on here, but am pleased with the clean and simpleness of it.
The sketch that inspired this layout is from the Tuesday Morning Sketch #193, and the actual banner is facing down in the sketch, but after playing around with my piece of banner/ribbon, I opted to turn it off to the side.
I added the button, twine, blue gems and paper-pierced the edges of the cream mat to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great week!
Another Mother's Day!
Happy Saturday!
I know, I know....another Mother's Day card!  I do have a few peeps that I give these cards too, not just "my" own Mom.
The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week is to incorporate a household item.
Some participants used paper towels, nail polish, and even a pop-top was used as a buckle (genius!).
I wracked my brain and went on the hunt for something to use, and then decided to use staples to hold down my twine.
I added the embossing, flowers, and gold-pearls to finish it off.
I am also entering this creation for the April Verve Diva Dare to win $100 in Verve products, how cool!  The challenge is to use a butterfly or flower focal point.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you're enjoying your weekend!
Pink Caramel Mother's Day
Yah...it's Friday!
What are your plans for the weekend?
Oh yeah, it's another Mother's Day card.  I told ya I needed to get 'er done!
The color challenge this week over at the ColorQ is to use Basic Black, Going Gray, Blushing Bride & Creamy Caramel.  At first, I wasn't sure how the gray would tie in with it all, so I chose to use it as the background-banner behind the sentiment.
I chalked around the banner & the sentiment, used the corner punch and placed tiny pearls to finish it off.
Thanks for popping by today...I hope you have a great weekend!
So Blessed To Call You Mom
Hey y'all!
Here's another Mother's Day card I made,
(this one is for my own Mom).
I used the Verve "Because of You" stamp set again because it has so many stamps geared towards the women in your life, especially Mom.
I inked the image with Colorbok Chalk in Tangerine, and the stems & leaves in SU! Old Olive.
The stripe across the middle is SU! Groovy Guava (I used this as I didn't have any Calypso Coral).  I then embossed it using the "Petals-A-Plenty" folder from Sizzix, and then chalked the petals with a Dew Drop.
Thanks for stopping by...I hope you have a great day!
Thinking of You on Mother's Day
Hi again!
Another post today, and this one is for the new
I love this challenge that combined a sketch with color!
For my creation, I used pink & white ric rac in the background, flowers, brads, dot-embossing and little pearls.
Happy Mother's Day
Happy Wednesday!
I just realized Mother's Day is close to a month away, and I haven't even created the first card.  It's time to get busy, right?
Okay, I need help!  I'm addicted to paper!
I bought some more Colorbok DP, these papers are from the "Spring Morning" series, and it is so pretty.
The bead-ribbon is some scraps I had, and I thought they would go perfectly with this.
Here's a closer look at the flowers:
The layered-flowers and leaves are from the Spellbinders "Rose Creations" die set.  I chalked the edges and anchored it all with a pearl brad in the center.
After looking at this finished creation, I must say...so far, it's one of my faves!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Hot Air Balloons
Happy Tuesday!
Today's card is a fun-whimsical creation inspired by the sketch at
 The Sweet Stop (Challenge #205).
When I saw this week's challenge, my first thought was to create something just exactly like the sketch (using circles).
Yet, when I got to playing around, I decided on cutting this DP in the shape of hot-air-balloons, and went from there.  Then, I had a thought of using some square brads as the baskets...and viola!  My hot-air-balloons creation was born.  This was a fun one for sure!
Celebrate Pink Baby!
  Hey there!  I hope you had a great weekend!
I absolutely loved this sketch!  In fact, the card I posted yesterday is from the same CAS(E) sketch...this time for a baby girl.  So many people I know will soon be having a baby, so I figure at least one of them will have a girl, right?
Here's a close up of the tag:
Like the other card I created using this sketch, I popped up the tag and "baby" circle to give it some added dimension, and I also used the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Birds & Swirls on the bg for added texture.
The color combination is from this week's challenge #36 over at
 Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges.  The inspiration came from a beautiful cake decorated in pink, black & white icing.
 You should play along too!
Just In Case...
Just in case you wanna see how ADORABLE my sweet grand-baby is...
Here's our lil' munchkin Olivia having fun in her Auntie Kelly's truck.
She looks just like her Daddy, and I just had to share!
Enjoy your Sunday!
Cute As A Button!
Happy Sunday!
My nephew and his wife are expecting their first child, and I have a gut-feeling it's a boy.  I've been wanting to find a use for this cute button paper from Colorbok "Splendor" and this was the perfect time.
Here's a close-up of the tag:
The tag itself along with the "baby" circle are popped up using foam-adhesives (I just love those!).  Also, if you look closely, I did some scoring on the card to give the bg some texture.
Thanks for visiting today, and if you're looking for some inspiration,
Am also entering this one into the
Razzleberry Hello
Happy Friday!
Today's creation is for a girlfriend of mine that I don't get to see that often.  Her favorite color is purple so right away I knew it would find a happy home.
The layout is inspired by this week's SCS Sketch Challenge #430
the color-combo is from the Color Throwdown #236 to use
Always Artichoke, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry & Orchid Opulence.
(I substituted and used SU! Certainly Celery, and Orchid from TPS).
I also decided to play along again this week at the
 Timeless Tuesday Challenge #214 to Wrap It With Ribbon (2 ribbons).
For some reason, these colors proved to definitely be a challenge for me.  It really took me a while to decide what colors the mats would be...and decided to add black in there to make it all pop.
Card Deets:
Cardstock:  SU! Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, and Orchid by TPS.
DP:  SU! Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper
Stamps:  Image by Inkadinkado, Sentiment by Heidi Grace
Ribbons:  SU! So Saffron Grosgrain, SU! Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot Grosgrain.
Thinking of You
Hi everyone!
Today's card is a very special one.
It's for a neighbor/friend of ours that lost her 21 year old son
(my son's best friend) last year on Aug. 9th due to a car accident.
I wanted to create something special for her to let her know that I'm thinking about her...hoping this small gesture might brighten her day.
The layout was inspired by this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #181, and the color combo is for this week's Color Q Challenge #183 to use Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride.
(I substituted using SU! Pink Pirouette and TPS Coral).
This pretty flower image is from Verve "Because of You" set, and I popped it up using foam-adhesives.
Card Deets:
Cardstock:  SU! Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette and Coral from TPS.
DP:  SU! "Thoroughly Modern", and Colorbok "Splendor".
Stamps:  Flower by Verve "Because of You", Sentiment from Heidi Grace.
Spread Your Wings
Happy Wednesday!
Today's card was a fun one!  I was able to submit it for 3 challenges:
to use Real Red, So Saffron & Pool Party
I substituted and used Rose Red & Baja Breeze.
This sweet little image and sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps "Playful Pixies" set.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored her in with Prisma Watercolor Pencils.  I should've used liquid-glass on her wings, but opted for some Icicle Stickles with white glitter.
Card Deets:
Cardstock:  SU! Rose Red, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, white
Stamp:  Clear Dollar Stamps "Playful Pixies"
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Prisma Watercolor Pencils
Mojo Birthday Blues
Happy Tuesday!
The layout is inspired by this week's Mojo Monday #287.
I ended up creating this one for my sis-in-law's upcoming birthday.  She is a no-frills, no pink, no lace, no bling kinda girl.
I did however, decide to use a Bazzill Flower tucking it underneath so it peeks out.  With these colors and the no-frills, am pretty sure this is her type of card.
Card Deets:
Cardstock:  SU! Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, kraft
DP:  Colorbok "Rhapsody"
Clean & Simple Cupcake
Hey there!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!
Today's card is for the CAS(E) This Sketch #21 (Clean and Simple).
Believe it or not, it's not as "simple" as I thought it would be, as I love to junk-it-up LOL!  I really had to hold myself back from adding too many embellishments or colorful papers.
I recently received my SU! goodies, and couldn't wait to use my new stamp set: SU! Best of Birthdays.
This lil' stamp is just adorable and I inked it with Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored it in using my SU! Blending Pen along with SU! Old Olive, and other chalks by Studio G.
If you're looking for some inspiration for a Clean And Simple creation, here's the sketch:
DP:  Colorbok: Splendor
Stamp:  SU Best of Birthdays
