Razzleberry Hello

Happy Friday!

Today's creation is for a girlfriend of mine that I don't get to see that often.  Her favorite color is purple so right away I knew it would find a happy home.

The layout is inspired by this week's SCS Sketch Challenge #430
the color-combo is from the Color Throwdown #236 to use
Always Artichoke, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry & Orchid Opulence.
(I substituted and used SU! Certainly Celery, and Orchid from TPS).

I also decided to play along again this week at the
Timeless Tuesday Challenge #214 to Wrap It With Ribbon (2 ribbons).

For some reason, these colors proved to definitely be a challenge for me.  It really took me a while to decide what colors the mats would be...and decided to add black in there to make it all pop.

Card Deets:
Cardstock:  SU! Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, and Orchid by TPS.
DP:  SU! Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper
Stamps:  Image by Inkadinkado, Sentiment by Heidi Grace
Inks:  SU! Old Olive, Memento Tuxedo Black, Dew Drops & Prisma
Ribbons:  SU! So Saffron Grosgrain, SU! Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot Grosgrain.
Other:  Pearls by Want2Scrap, button, white craft-string and foam adhesives.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great weekend!

Butterfly Gingham Just Because

Happy Friday!

Today's card is for several challenges:

1) SCS Way To Use It #420; to use gingham
3) Color Q #182; to use Pool Party,
Wisteria Wonder, Always Artichoke, and Lucky Limeade.

I played around with the editing, and although I did use Rich Razzleberry as the bg and mat, it looks like a dark-brown here in this photo.

Once I got started creating this, I wasn't sure how I'd incorporate the blue into the layout.  I ended up cutting out corner pieces for the frame.

The butterfly was stamped then colored in with CTMH Markers and outlined with Prisma Watercolor Pencils.  I then cut it out, (carefully around the antennae!), then popped it up with foam-adhesives.  I only had a tiny piece of Always Artichoke in my stash and wondered how I would incorporate that as well, and I ended up cutting a tiny piece and used it for the butterfly's body.

After adhering the butterfly, I decided it needed some sparkle, so I used Icicle Stickles in the colored areas.

On to the bow.  I played around with the placement of it, and this is where it ended up!  I'm still not too sure if it's overkill, but I really wanted to use that gingham!

Color Substitutions: I substituted Baja Breeze (for Pool Party), Certainly Celery (for Lucky Limeade), and Rich Razzleberry (for the Wisteria Wonder).

Sweet Springtime Sketch!

Hey there!

Today's card is for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #180 for this week over at Karen Giron's blog; The Sweetest Thing, for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #212, and for the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge #35 to create for Spring.

I absolutely love this week's challenges,
and am so happy to be able to play along.

I decided to make a Spring-y card for my sis-in-law who is hosting Easter this year again at her home.  She loves Easter, and tulips especially...and I'm pretty sure she's going to love this card just as much!

Aren't these designer papers pretty?  They're from Colorbok ~ Splendor and I just love them!

Here's a look at the inside...
