I decided to "fuse" both the sketch and colors together, and this is what I came up with.

Happy Birthday to my Son!

Wow, how is it possible that I laid eyes on you for the first time on this day...

It still feels like yesterday that I held you in my arms,
very early that Tuesday morning.

You were my first-born.

Because of you, I entered motherhood and have enjoyed every minute of it during the last 26 years.

Even though you've endured more in your short years, than others have their entire lives, you still are, and always will be a son we are proud of and love more than words can say.

Happy Birthday Son...
may you have a life filled with more happiness than sorrow.

Love ~ your Momma

Today's card is for this week's Mojo Monday:

Here's my creation:

I haven't quite decided whether this one is more juvenile or masculine, but either way, I am happy how it turned out!

I popped up the sentiment, big star and balloon for a 3-D look.

Thanks for stopping by today,
and make sure you head on over to my A.R.T. Challenge blog tomorrow for our winners and this week's new challenge...

CAS Masculine Celebrate

Happy Wednesday!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge over at CAS(E) this sketch, and well....I didn't finish it in time :(

That's okay, it was fun!

The color combo is from the Color Challenge this week over at SCS with dessert being masculine.

The big star is from a scrap of SU! Chocolate Chip cardstock that had the star already punched out, and I cut around it and glued it down, adding that big button & twine to finish it off.

The little stars are from my Studio G punch.

It was quick & easy, and whew!, another masculine card done!

I hope you have a great day!

Dad...

Hey there!

I know it's early to be creating for Father's Day, but I saw this sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and thought it would be the perfect layout for this one.

Father's Day has always been 'hard' for me since my own father's passing in 1998....although it feels like yesterday.

However, I still celebrate with both my husband and my father-in-law and help make their day special.

This one turned out easy peasy to create!

Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy your Wednesday!

Americana Birthday

Hi again!

A friend of the family's son (I call him my nephew) celebrates his birthday near the 4th of July, so I decided this year to create a card with an Americana feel.  I just adore anything Americana...and in fact, my entire house used to be decorated in this theme.

The sketch is from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge over at Karen Giron's blog "The Sweetest Thing"I always enjoy her sketches, and you could win a Guest Stamper spot too.

I recently bought some Kraft Cardstock, and really like how it goes with the red, white & blue.

The stars were cut out by hand (after making a template using a SU! star stamp), chalked around the edges, then popped up.

The red-scallop strip was created using a corner punch by removing the guard; you can easily punch each scallop, and viola!  It takes some time, but I really love how it looks.

Thanks for stopping by again today, I hope you have a great weekend!

Card Recipe:
Cardstock:  SU! Whisper White, Real Red, Night of Navy and Kraft.
Stamp:  TPC
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Dew Drop in Gingerbread

Masculine Make A Wish

Woo-hoo, it's Friday!

Okay...I have to admit, I bought more paper again!

Oh yeah....these DP's are from the Colorbok "So Sweet" pack, and when I saw these specific papers, I immediately thought "masculine"!

This cake & candles image is from SU! Best of Birthdays set, and I inked it with Memento Tuxedo Black, die-cut it out using my Spellbinders "Labels One" die set, colored it in with Prisma Watercolor Pencils, blended, and popped it up using foam adhesives for a 3-D look.

Ta-da!  Another masculine card done!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Cheveron Birthday

 Hi again!

I had so much fun with the Fusion Challenge #1, that I decided to play along again this week.

I don't know about you, but I really love a sketch challenge with a color inspiration.  Sometimes I need that to get my creative-juices flowing.

Aren't those colors cool?

Even though the "chevron" style is really popular right now, the only thing I had was this chevron-green paper from DCWV.  I cut it out and matted it against the white.  For the gray circles, I just used 2 different sized circle-punches and glued those down.

Now that it's finished, I think it'll be a perfect masculine card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

~Cheryl

Masculine Birthday

Hey there!

Today's card is for my brother-in-law's birthday today.
(another inspired card from Pinterest!)

I'm not sure why, but I seem to have a hard time creating when it comes to masculine cards.  Maybe because I love to embellish?  I think when it comes to men, simpler is better!

Cardstock: SU Certainly Celery, TPS
Stamps: Inkadinkado, TPC (font)
Other: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (swirls), Prisma watercolor pencils, and brads

Congrats Grad Challenges

Hey there!

Today's creation is for my nephew who will soon
be Graduating from High School.

Eeek!  How is that possible?  By the way, he is by far, THE BEST nephew, son, grandson, brother, cousin, and young man I've ever known.  He is handsome and smart and I cannot believe he's grown now, and will be going off to college this summer!

This card covers both the Sketch #428 and the Color #418 (to use Midnight Muse, Marina Mist & Baja Breeze) Challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers this week.

I know it's a little early to be creating a Grad-card, but when I saw the color-combo for this week, I immediately thought about Graduation.

Card Deets:
Cardstock:  SU Night of Navy (substituted for Midnight Muse),
Marina Mist, Baja Breeze, Black and White.
DP:  DCWV Fall Stack
Stamps: Inkadinkado
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Dew Drops Night Sky
Other:  Cuttlebug "Swiss-Dots" Embossing Folder, CTMH Marker,
