Butterfly Gingham Just Because

Happy Friday!

Today's card is for several challenges:

1) SCS Way To Use It #420; to use gingham
3) Color Q #182; to use Pool Party,
Wisteria Wonder, Always Artichoke, and Lucky Limeade.

I played around with the editing, and although I did use Rich Razzleberry as the bg and mat, it looks like a dark-brown here in this photo.

Once I got started creating this, I wasn't sure how I'd incorporate the blue into the layout.  I ended up cutting out corner pieces for the frame.

The butterfly was stamped then colored in with CTMH Markers and outlined with Prisma Watercolor Pencils.  I then cut it out, (carefully around the antennae!), then popped it up with foam-adhesives.  I only had a tiny piece of Always Artichoke in my stash and wondered how I would incorporate that as well, and I ended up cutting a tiny piece and used it for the butterfly's body.

After adhering the butterfly, I decided it needed some sparkle, so I used Icicle Stickles in the colored areas.

On to the bow.  I played around with the placement of it, and this is where it ended up!  I'm still not too sure if it's overkill, but I really wanted to use that gingham!

Color Substitutions: I substituted Baja Breeze (for Pool Party), Certainly Celery (for Lucky Limeade), and Rich Razzleberry (for the Wisteria Wonder).

Card Deets:
Cardstock:  SU! Baja Breeze, Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry, and White.
DP:  DCWV "Peppy Princess" Stack
Stamps:  Butterfly by Inkadinkado, Sentiment by TPS
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black, CTMH Markers, Dew Drops Chalk, Prisma Watercolor Pencils
Other:  Icicle Stickles, Gingham Ribbon, button, brad, white craft-string and foam-adhesives.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Masculine Birthday

Hey there!

Today's card is for my brother-in-law's birthday today.
(another inspired card from Pinterest!)

I'm not sure why, but I seem to have a hard time creating when it comes to masculine cards.  Maybe because I love to embellish?  I think when it comes to men, simpler is better!

Card Deets:
Cardstock: SU Certainly Celery, TPS
Stamps: Inkadinkado, TPC (font)
Other: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (swirls), Prisma watercolor pencils, and brads

Sweet Flourishes Inspiration

Hey y'all!

I was able to participate in several challenges today and get this creation done before the Lil' Munchkin (Granddaughter Olivia) showed up today.  With a toddler around, it's hard to get anything done!

Here are the challenges:

(More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise & Daffodil Delight)

I absolutely adore this DP from Colorbok, and with this week's color challenge, I knew it would go perfect with it.

Although I love to incorporate stitching into my creations, I was unable today as my sewing machine isn't working properly.  So instead, I did some faux-stitching.

Card Deets:
Cardstock:  SU! Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie, white
DP:  Colorbok "Splendor"
Stamp:  Verve "Because of You"
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black & Dew Drop Chalk
Ribbon: SU! Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Grosgrain
Other: Pearl by Want2Scrap, Spellbinders Rose Creations (diecut flowers), and foam-adhesives.

Easter Goodie Baskets

Hey there!

As promised, here's the photo and deets to the Easter Goodie Baskets I created (compliments of Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial)

Every year I try to make a little something special for all of the women in my family, and these were perfect!  The tutorial was very easy to follow, and it didn't take much time at all to create all of them.

The dimensions of this box will perfectly fit 3 chocolate eggs, but since I had so many to make, I opted for chocolate kisses and other chocolates to fill them.

Details:
Cardstock & DP: The Paper Studio
Stamp: The Angel Company
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black & Dew Drops Chalk
