Happy Birthday to my Son!

Wow, how is it possible that I laid eyes on you for the first time on this day...

It still feels like yesterday that I held you in my arms,
very early that Tuesday morning.

You were my first-born.

Because of you, I entered motherhood and have enjoyed every minute of it during the last 26 years.

Even though you've endured more in your short years, than others have their entire lives, you still are, and always will be a son we are proud of and love more than words can say.

Happy Birthday Son...
may you have a life filled with more happiness than sorrow.

Love ~ your Momma

Here's my creation this week:

I decided to ink up these stamps from the Flourishes "Garden Gate" set...
I had not used them yet,

Thanks so much for stopping by today,
and I sure hope you play along with us this week at A.R.T.!

Happy Wednesday!

Some of you might have noticed that things have been pretty quiet around here, well...there's a reason for that...

I've lost my scrap-room...Eek!

Our son moved back home last week, and all of my goodies had to be boxed up and stored away.  :(

All of the items used here are SU!, except for the brad and ribbon.

Don't forget to join us tomorrow

CC&CC#43 ~ Life's A Beach & Exciting News!

Happy Friday!

I am SO excited to share with you that I've been asked
(by my long-time bloggy-friend Joanne), to be a Design Team Member for the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge blog!

Thanks Joanne!  It's very humbling and I am very honored to be a part of such a wonderful, creative team!

This week is  "Life's A Beach" with Bugaboo Digi Stamps as our sponsor.

I chose the Beach Baby 2 image...isn't she just adorable??  She reminds me of my precious granddaughter...

I haven't used digi-stamps in a few years, and I must say, I am really enjoying it!  You are able to print them off whatever size your heart desires.

My lil' sweetie is colored in using my Prisma, then I cut her and those "splashes" out and popped them up for added dimension.  I sponged some orange & yellow ink onto the white bg cardstock for a sunny-feel.

My waves were hand-cut and I ran those through my Cuttlebug, then popped-up as well.  I finished it off with the sentiment banner, some Fancy Floss and that cute little shell-charm.

I sure hope you'll head on over to CC&CC and play along with us, we'd love to see your "beachy" creation!

Have a great weekend!

Masculine Birthday ~ A.R.T.#5

Hey there!

Today's card is for our A.R.T. Card Challenge, and it's in honor of my son's birthday month...so we're going "Masculine".

I kept it clean & simple (I didn't want to foo-foo it up) using Chocolate & Kraft cardstock.  Added that strip of DP down the side, a few banners with buttons at the bottom, and viola...done!

Head on over to my A.R.T. blog and play along,
I'd sure love to see what you come up with!

FLLCJUL13 With Sympathy

Hey y'all!

Today's card is my 2nd creation for the

July13SketchChallenge+copy

I started out with Kraft cardstock, and then I used my Spellbinders Labels One dies for that window on SU! Whisper White cardstock.

Both sentiments are from my ODBD "Loving Memories" set, and I just punched the larger sentiment using my large circle-punch.  I also sponged some SU! Old Olive around the edges too.

It's hard to tell in this picture, but that felt ric-rac under the banner is an olive green color (not brown).  And I added that huge button and twine to finish it all off.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Don't forget to head on over to my A.R.T. Card Challenge blog (tomorrow) Thursday morning!  We will reveal last week's winners PLUS start a new challenge
(it's a theme).  I sure hope you'll join us, we're having lots of fun!

Today's creation is for the

My "window" was created using my Spellbinders "Labels One" die set, and the white mat is popped up for dimension.

I went CAS with this one, as I wanted my image to stand out.

CAS Twirls of Thanks!

Hey there!

I hope everyone had a fun holiday weekend filled with good food & good times with your loved ones!

I am super-excited to share today's card with you, as one of the challenges I'm entering it in is the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge "Material Girl"; to use material, fabric, canvas, etc.

Well, I went searching thru my crafts looking for some canvas,
and what did I find?

Some cross-stitching projects I'd done many moons ago!

And I figured this lil' ballerina was just the ticket!

Isn't she just adorable?

I cut her out, popped her up using foam-adhesives, and anchored her with that cute button and floss.

The layout is from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch
but I had to turn it to fit her in.

My "splotches" were created dabbing a paintbrush into some inks.

There ya go, CAS!

Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope you have a great week!

**Thanks Mary for letting me know this also qualifies for the
Mixability Challenge #23 at SCS!

so of course I incorporated it into these too!

My Sweet Baby Granddaughter!

Hey there!

No card yet today...
so I thought I'd share a personal picture with you.

This is my sweet, adorable Granddaughter Olivia.

She is "working" on her Mustang.

My hubby and son come from a long-line of Ford (especially Mustang) lovers, so when we caught Olivia grabbing a wrench and trying to fix her tire,
we had to take a pic!

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a fun,
safe 4th of July weekend!

~Cheryl

**even though tomorrow is a holiday,
there will still be a new A.R.T. Challenge
and we hope you'll play along with us

CAS Follow Your Bliss

Happy Monday,
I sure hope you had a good weekend!

Today's creation is inspired by several challenges.

The layout is from CAS(E) This Sketch
to use watercolors (or water-themed, or the colors of water)
and the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge to use at least 1 arrow on your card.

And here's my take on all 3 of those challenges!:

This one really was a challenge for me, as I had to keep in mind to keep it CAS (clean & simple)....I sooooo wanted to foo-foo-it-up!  LOL

I went with my Flourishes Bees & Blooms set...inking the images up with Memento Tuxedo Black, then I used my Prisma Watercolor Pencils.  I added those tiny pearls in the center & used Liquid Glass on the bee's wings.

There ya go, keeping it CAS!

Thanks for stopping by today...enjoy your week!

*pssst....don't forget to enter the
where you will also be entered to win a Guest Designer Spot too!
